Is homosexuality caused by a problem mentally?

I've had this question for a very long time now, but a lot of people I know just don't seem to have an answer.

Aside, I am not g*y myself, but about the way I asked the question, I did not mean to offend anyone who is.

No. Period. Many animals exhibit homosexual preferences. Penguins for instance. Do they have ..."mental issues"? Obviously it's natural to have hetero- and homo- sexual members within a group of species.

Nope, homosexuality certainly isn’t a disease, mental or physical. A lot of studies have also been conducted on chromosomes, but nobody’s be able to find any g*y-making ‘master gene’ so far! Studies on the question whether it’s only the result of learning doesn’t produce satisfactory results either.

So we might just conclude that any sexual orientation – g*y, L*****n, straight or bisexual – is the result of very complex interaction between factors of anatomy, environment, and cognition that shape each person’s growth, development and unique brain chemistry.

Not in a "it's their choice" sort of way. When in the womb, the fetus receives an amount of hormones. This amount varies from 0% to 100%. 0% means macho man while 100% means very girl. (this is not the exact way but it's the simplest way to explain it in human-terms)

If a fetus receives 50%, they will be bi-sexual. Right in the middle. People are all over the scale. That's why there are varying degrees of "gayness", if you will.

Watch "The Making of Me". A documentary starring John Barrowman where Joohn goes through a series of tests which determine the reason why he's g*y.

No. I believe it is a biological issue. I think the pheromone systems of g**s and bi's are altered. They mimic the system of heterosexuals of the opposite s*x.

It is genetic, and the genetics are complex.  First response is WRONG.

Homosexuality isn't "Caused" by anything, it's an instinct that you are born with, and is able to be selectively controlled as much as you can select your eye color, or your hair color, or if you have freckles ...etc.

For those that think it's sick like the idiot above, they are likely struggling with their own hidden homosexual tendencies and attractions, and feel by denouncing it in that way, that they will surely dispel any thoughts about them possibly being g*y.

Relax... if it was morally wrong, you can rest assured that the person who is g*y will be the one to have to answer to it to his God, and that same God doesn't need YOU condemning anyone for him...

Read your whole bible, and when you get to the part where is says not to condemn, for if you condemn, you surely have condemned yourself... STOP, mark it and let others live.

No.  It's the homophobic bigots who, oftentimes, claim to speak for the creator of the universe who have the mental problem.  I'd call it sadism mixed with delusions of grandeur.  Homosexuality doesn't really hurt anyone.

Technically speaking, it's a neurophysical abnormality, not a functional one.  Ergo, properly speaking it is not a mental process in the conventional sense.  In other words, their brains are wired differently.
