Is honey vegan, considering kept bees are pretty much in their natural state anyway?

Vegans do not consume animal products.  Honey is an animal product.  You can have maple syrup though:)

Depends on how "vegan" you are.

I've heard vegans talk about how they don't eat honey because farmers are "exploiting" bees. Also, bees PRODUCE the honey from their own bodies, like cows PRODUCE milk from their own bodies. If you don't eat dairy, you shouldn't eat honey.

no, it's not.

agave nectar is, though, and it's very similar to honey, great replacement. you can find it at Publix and other groceries like Whole Foods.

For a simple answer: honey is most definitely not vegan.

Honey is an animal product made by bees to feed their young (just like cows and their milk).

ive heard its not.but think it depend on the persons view of things and why they are vegans.i dont think id eat meat even if it they lived happily but then other vegitarians say they wud.im vegitarian but i hav heard/read from vegan ppl that they dont eat honey..the same was they dont use wool.the idea is that u are exploiting the animal.

No, in the same way that milk isn't.

For info it isn't really vegtarian either as it can be processed in a mannor that kills the bees.  In some cases honey can have parts of bees in it.
