I work my mules and loose about 20 lbs/ yeap ,it's hard work

  3. Yes.  It improves your balance and it tones your muscles... especially your leg muscles and your stomach and back muscles.  It's actually a lot of work to stay on a horse if you're actually riding (not just walking... you must be trotting and cantering).  And there's a lot of exercises that you can do on a horse to make the work harder on yourself... like post the trot instead of just sitting there... or two point the canter or any gait for that matter.  If you just sit on the horse like a blob, it's not exercise, but if you're riding properly, it is.

  7. Yes. Horseback riding really tones your muscles especially your legs, abs and back. It also helps with balance. If you're just sitting there and walking around you don't really make any muscles but if you're doing rising trot, cantering or even stirrupless then you build tons of muscle. You make a lot of muscle because sometimes the 100 pound animal underneath you would rather be in it's stall and you got to remind the horse that you're the boss and that he has no choice, he/she has to work.

  8. yes it is it is great exesize
