Is human fidel by nature or is he pushed to fidelity by cultural evolution?

In nature there are some species of animal who change partner during whole life while there are some species like doves who stay fidel to one partner forever even if one dies. Human is in which category?

  1. According to a number of studies, it's a mixture. Women tend to marry men who will be good fathers, but they want to have babies with more flamboyant types.

  4. I believe it's not in the human nature to be in complete fidelity to each other. At least not like your example, and surely this applies more to men than to women. However, since there are always exceptions to the rules you can not be categorical on any side of the argument

  5. Humans definitely need some sort of cultural teaching to stay with each other sometimes then again other people would stay with they chosen mate for life. It's just in their make up as a person. I would stay with my husband until he died. I don't think I would remarry now but then again times might change. I have no desire for anyone else. He has no desire for anyone else. But young people these days go through mates at an alarming rate. So there are exceptions to the rule.
