  1. YES!!!  We are near Flagler Beach and Fay is expected to come on shore right here.  So far it has been tons of rain and very strong winds.  Our power has flashed a couple of times, but so far we haven't lost it (keeping fingers crossed.)  I am a little worried because I am pregnant and my husband had to work today and we are in a VERY flood proned area.

EDIT* Amanda, if I was a little closer to you I would help you out with the kids, but I am in St. Johns county.  The parents of the family I usually nanny for are off work due to the storm so I am out of work today and Friday.

  2. ??? Who knows anymore with this crazy storm. I live in Alachua County and we have been waiting for it for days. Schools and day cares are closed today, and it's not even raining yet. So, likely they will be closed tomorrow too becasue now it looks like the storm has stalled and won't come through unitl late tonight/tomorrow morning. I work for a company where this is our busiest time, so I HAVE to be at work and scramble to find somebody to watch my kids. So that is how it is affecting me.

  3. Nope. Yay for central Canada. We've had one earthquake (a 4.0, barely felt it) and one freak hurricane in all of recorded history here. Oh and one dude thought he saw a funnel cloud a couple years back. That made the news.

  4. i live near downtown jacksonville. my house is flooded, i have been using my clothes to keep the water out. this sucks really bad.
