are people still allowed to use hydro fluorocarbon in products such as hairspray or body spray

because it ruins our ozone layer??

  1. Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) contain no chlorine. They are composed entirely of carbon, hydrogen, and fluorine. They have no known effects at all on the ozone layer but do cause global warming. HFC is a target of the Kyoto Protocol.

    Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which are mainly responsible for ozone depletion. They are used in refrigerants, foam blowing agents, solvents, aerosol spray propellants, fire extinguishing agents, and chemical reagents.

    Most of the HFCs and CFCs have been voluntarily removed from products and are currently being phased out entirely by 2020. They are still legal in the United States.
