Wind energy costs about 0.04 $/kwh, what would be the cost of hydrogen from wind?

  1. The positive thing is that wind energy is a competitive energy so its cost comes down easily.

    Also hydrogen from wind can be stored via ammonia production that can be uses as fuel or fetilisant...

    If wind energy comes down then ammonia from wind can become a good way...


  2. Wouldn't that depend on the mechanism designed to produce it?

  3. Surely now it's more cheap than gasoline. 1 litre of gasoline is equivalent to 4 m3 of hydrogen.  If you need  4 kwh of wind energy to produce 1 m3 of hydrogen then the cost is about 0.16 $/m3 *  4  without considering the costs of the priduction plant.

  4. Ummm, don't we just separate water using electrolysis and bottle the hydrogen? Don't see why we would take the time to deal with wind, but, I can be quite stupid at times. No bull.
