  3. Hello,

      Hydrogen Peroxide is a classis Base, meaning if all chemicals are measured to thier maximum basitity, i.e., Hydrogen Peroxide is profoundly basic . It simply means that the pH is far closer to 14 than to 1. Eventhough there may be a few more basic compounds, such as lime stone, ect., Hydrogen Peroxide is used as a common and well know base because it will recieve an electron easily, or give up an -OH, if neccessary.

    Good look,

  4. You should get some litmus paper and test them.  If I remember, an acid has an H+ and a base has an OH-.  I think aspirin, tonic water, and vinegar are acids.  I think peroxide is a base.  The rest are neutral or I'm not sure.

  5. neither. its an oxidant only it does not fit any of arrhenius, bronsted-lowry, and lewis definition of acid or base.

    alcohol= slightly deprotonates= sparingly acidic

    saline= NaCl soln= neutral=neither acid or base

    asprin= acetylsalicylic acid= acidic

    pepto bismol= i dont knoe what this is

    alka seltzer= neutralize acid in stomach = therefore basic

    tonic water= added with quinone most probably= neutral= neither acidic nor basic

    vinegar= acetic acid= acid
