  1. depends, most hydro includes a lighting system as well so no. plus chemical nutrients can't be great, and hydro does not help soil erosion. etc so, no help...


  2. I don't agree with the other answer. Hydroponic is good and safe for the environment. It does save on soil because you are not planting in soil. The chemicals that are used are 100% harmless they are the natural minerals and elements that are found in soil. Also hydroponic gardening can save space. Instead of planting in rows plants can be planted to grow upright. I have had some experience with hydroponic gardening. It is an excellent way to garden.
