  1. Water float beds still gets fertilizer to the plants and that is all plants really need to grow and to make fruit or vegetables, dirt doesn't make the plant grow any better, and yes it is still considered organic there are no chemicals add to the water in the water bed only fertilizer, there is no need to use weed killer or insecticide on the plants, the plants are in an controlled environment!

  2. It is difficult because of the necessity of water solubility of the nutrients and the selection of nutrients in manners that will keep them from reacting in the solution, but it can be done.  Most hydroponically grown food is not considered "organic"

the "organic" label as defined by the industry is not a very accurate description nor does it always result in a more desirable product.

  3. Growing hydroponic is just a media to grow plants.  It is a media in which you have to supply the plants all of the nutrients they need to grow.  You can grow them organically by supplying all organic nutrients and controlling insects without using chemical sprays.  Is is harder to use organic nutrients because everything needs to applied as a liquid but it can be done.  One good way is to make a tea from earthworm castings, or you can make a tea from animal manure or organic composts.
