I assume that the majority of you watched or at least watched part of the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. Anyways there was a incident where one of the singers, of whom was Lin Miaoke, who lip-synced a 7-year old singer, who went by the name of Yang Peiyi, thus she wasn't Lin wasn't even singing at all. There was a portion of this story on Fox News as well as many other American Networks proclaiming that Americans would be deeply saddened and angry at such incident. But my reason for for asking this question is why some Americans mask their own domestic problems and look on external ones instead. Miley Cyrus (a well known Children's popstar) has been documented on several occasions to not even be singing or writing her songs at all. Away from the Entertainment sector, and we have the likes of George Bush who went to invade Iraq yet is groaning over why Russia is invading Georgia.

Opinions?

  1. What do you expect. China is a leader in fake Guccis too.

  2. the 2008 olympics is getting even more publicity than any other. people are looking for the most simple things to criticize, like the fireworks. who cares if some of it was fake, it is meant to entertain. this incident is another way of putting down china after its amazing ceremony. and also about the war and bush's opinion. i don't think he wanted to get involved with the war because everyone would be like," you are the reason there's war in iraq", but how would it look if he didn't respond at all? we all know G.B is a hypocrite, but the world would hate him even more if he didn't try to end the war in georgia.

  3. I personally think lip synching should not be allowed at all. Why the c**p should I pay upwards of hundreds of dollars to watch a singer not actually perform live? And to anyone out there, dont give me that nonsense ' well they have to perform complex dance moves'. ISNT THAT PART OF THE ACT? I saw Christina Aguilera back in the day and not only can that girl blow but she danced her butt off.

    Sit down Miley Cyrus.

  4. I think it's pretty sad why they chose to do what they did. A child may go the rest of her life thinking she isn't pretty enough...after all, the highest ranking officials in China say so. That is more the issue to me than the lip syncing. As for lip syncing...it should never be done in concerts. I think it's a ripoff.

As for the Iraq, Georgia comment...I am through hearing about how horrible G.W. is. Let it go people. He is not the reason for all of our troubles. I don't agree with all he does, but repeating what the media says to you and presenting it as fact is not effective.

  5. I actually wish that you had added the incidences that you referred to. But, no , hypocrisy is not in the air. /
