  1. Incidence of hypothyroidism is more in patients with diabetes , specially in women over 40.

When hypothyroidism is there control of diabetes becomes difficult. But when the hypothyroidism is treated control of diabetes becomes easy.

Chances of impaired glucose tolerance increases in hypothyroidism.

Is this what you wanted to know ?

Please see the following website too.

  2. hypothyroidism reduces your metaoblism and usually causes weight gain. However medication to correct hypothyroidism can help you loose weight once your TSH is under control. Many thyroid conditions have been linked to glucose intolerance and other autoimmune problems
