  1. you know what i had three drafts and i did them all different and i found that people were laying off some good running backs the best draft i had went like this

    1randy moss

    2braylon edwards

    3plaxico buress

    4ben rothlisberger

    5ronnie brown

    6antonio gates

    7willis mcgahee

    8jonathen stewart

    9santana moss

and i cant remeber the rest off the top of my head but i grabbed some really good rbs late and left everyone scrambling for a top wr hope this helps really everyone laughed while i was drafting but when the dust settled i believe i had the best team out there

  2. Running backs are way more important in the first round, since the majority of teams select RBs in the first round, if you pick one too late the chances are you will get a worse running back

  3. Get a good running back first because they are always more valuable than any other player... Maybe get a LT or Adrian Peterson  or Willie Parker  Someone like that   but if all the consistent running backs are gone by the time you get to pik (which probably won thappen) then get a tom bradyy or peyton manning

  4. Getting a good running back is more important in the first round.  There are a limited number of running backs that put up big numbers so you need to get one quick.  Even a decent or mediocre quarterback can still get enough points to help you win because they touch the ball every play.  Besides like Peyton, Brady, Romo, and maybe a couple others the quarterbacks are very similar.  Running backs are not.

  5. Hi evenjb7,

The popular thinking in fantasy football circles is that it is always smartest to draft a RB in the first round (some would even argue that you should draft 2 RBs in the first and second round).  The logic behind this approach isn't based so much on fantasy point output, but more on the scarce  number of RBs who do not share significant carries with other RBs.

Since there are very few RBs who are considered "True #1 RBs", they are a prized possession and therefore very valuable to your fantasy team. QB, on the other hand, are a dime a dozen and almost never split duties.

Although the 'Stud RB Theory' is still very valid in today's NFL, the last few seasons has shown an upward swing in point production from QBs and WRs.  For instance, Brady put up a whopping 490 fantasy points last year (more than 100 points more than any other QB), whereas LT only compiled 302 fantasy points over the entire season.  In the past this almost never happened.

If (and only if) you think you can find 2 good RBs in Round 2 and Round 3 should you consider picking a QB with the 1st round pick.  And even if you went this route, the only QB that I would target would be Brady. If he is off of the board you have to go RB in the first round.  There are plenty potential sleeper RBs in 2008 drafts, so taking a flier on Brady in the first round could pay off big, but you have to land those 2 productive RBs in later rounds, which is easier said than done.

If you click on the link in my source list you'll see my website where you can create your own player rankings using drag and drop.  Then, you can create a printable cheat sheet to take to your fantasy draft.  It's free and may make preparing for your draft much easier.

    Hope this helps
