Is iexplore.exe a virus????????????

Microsoft word just randomly opened by itself ..then i ignored it and opened internet explorer then Norton comes up asking me to allow it to access my computer .. i clicked allow since they said it's recommended but then i researched and found it's a virus that eats out the computer's memory...is this true????

if so, how do i delete it?

  1. It is completely plausible that you have a virus that is called iexplore.exe, seeing as many virus authors will give the file a name that is either similar, or exactly the same as legitimate programs, but I doubt this is the case.

    Do you have any reason to believe that you have a virus?  If you have no reason to believe that you have a virus, then chances are, you are just looking a normal, safe, copy of Internet Explorer.

    EDIT: I just saw your "additional details" entry. Why do you think you have a virus?  All of the processes you are listing are perfectly safe.  If you have reason to believe that these are fake files, please give us that information.  Otherwise, you're just worrying too much, because these are all normal, everyday processes.


  2. IEXPLORE.exe is not A windows file

    IExplorer.exe is internet explorer

    so yes this is a virus

    the best way to get red of it is by opening your taskmanager"Alt+Ctrl+Delete" and end this process then search that file

    and delete it.

    cause if its runing already it  wont delete you got to End Process.
