Is ikea furniture good quality?

im 15 and i have had my furniturew for 8 years and i really hate it but my parent are saying the furniture is bad quality..my current room costed thousands dollars but i was only 7 and had no say in the ugly furniture .. that is the only time i ever changed my room

well, our bed is from Ikea, and we've had if for about 5 years.  

unless you are paying for your new furniture, then i'm sure you'll have to live with it.  it's good stuff.

Ikea furniture is of poor quality and does not stand up well to the test of time, no matter what their commercials imply.  If you like to rearrange your furniture a lot, then you don't want Ikea furniture, because it will crumble before your eyes.  Why don't you update your room with new bedspread and curtains? Perhaps your parents will let you paint or refinish the furniture you have, or you can look around at garage and estate sales to find pieces you like and replace items in your room one at a time.

No, most of it is meant to be hip and stylish but most of it doesn't hold up after time. There are some items that you can't go wrong with (I've had a child's Ikea office chair for 19 years), but most of it is cheap particle board construction with hinges, rails and sockets that break.

I still like to shop at Ikea because I love the trends.
