  1. Current research seems to be on the right track towards discovering the root causes of ageing.  Add to that modern methods of synthesis, and the potential of nanotechnology, and it seems fairly likely that within our lifetimes we might be able to stop (or even reverse) the ageing process.  Whether it will be affordable, or desirable is another question entirely.

Even with such advances though, you are still guaranteed to die at some point.  As the period of time in question becomes infinite, the probability of you dying in a chance event approaches one.

  2. If you believe in God and Jesus's resurrection and the immaculate conception, then anything is possible.  How do  you know that you're not immortal?

  3. Death is the only factual event in life after birth..

  4. i hate to break it to you, but you're going to die.

  5. Theoretically, it is possible. It is the one dream, one wish, one ambition and belief every human being carries within to be immortal.

  6. I hope not!

  7. Hindus believe in reincarnation, due to karma. Karma is any good or bad deed that we make that will return to us later. We are reincarnated only to erase all bad karma. If you do so many good things and erase all the bad karma that we made, Hindus say that we will attain moksha, or being free from the cycle of life and death. You can go back to Earth or stay in Heaven forever, but if you choose to go back to Earth, you will technically not be able to die.

  8. With time and development in pharmaceuticals and technology it is possible that immortality could be achieved, but I doubt whether it would be achievable within even the next 200 years.

Even if it becomes possible would you desire immortality as it would defy what it means to be human as well as overcrowding our planet and placing a strain on our resources which may be too large to sustain them?
