It is the same vitamin. The forumulation is different when it is to be absorbed via the digestive tract than directly through the tissues.

When you take the injectable B1, it is introduced right into your bloodstream.

When you take B1 in tablet form, the tablet has to be broken down, run through the liver, and then absorbed.  This results in not as much B1 to be absorbed into your body, as it's a long process to go through your digestive system first.

As for the vitamin composition, thiamine is thiamine :)
