Is intellectual and communication the same thing?

Yes.....and no.

Communication is a form of expressed intelligence, but only one of many.  When a person has verbal ability, he/she may be able to win more debates or understand more written instructions than someone with fewer verbal skills.  Actually intelligence is much, much more than verbal ability.  There are tests that measure certain types of intelligence, and verbal ability is only one.

You don't have to be intellectual to communicate... but it annoys the c**p out of me when I find myself talking to stupid people!

Intellectualism can be part of communication,but, I would not say it is the same definition. Maybe you are referring to how a person uses language? We all talk and express ourselves differently.
