Is intermediate school in high school or not if not whats it in ?

In some districts, 6th-7th is intermediate school, middle is 8th-9th, and high school is 10th-12th.

In most places in the US, "high school" refers to 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.  However, in some, "high school" is only 10th, 11th and 12th, with ninth being the last year of junior high.  Different places use different terminology for different grade groupings.

In some places, "middle school" means 5th-8th, while in other places, K-6th is "elementary" while 7th and 8th, or 7th, 8th, and 9th are in "junior high" or "intermediate".  In my town, "elementary" is Pre-K through 5th, "junior high" is 6th-8th, and "high school" is ninth through twelfth.

My school district consists of one elementary school (grades k-2), one intermediate school (grades 3-5), one middle school (grades 6-8), and one high school (grades 9-12)
