    Ionic mercury would be mercury metal that has been exposed to a high electric filed which result in an electron being stripped off. This is what happens in a fluorescent lightbulb.

    Elemental Mercury is inorganic. The term organic when speaking of materials implys that thir composition includes carbon atoms.This has nothing to do with whether the material is ionized or not.
