i want to hear from those who own one, or those who know someone who owns one. is it really worth the money? have you experienced any drawbacks? any regrets buying it? what things about your ipod touch do (or don't) you appreciate the most? if ever i'll buy, it will be my first ipod, so i would like to derive maximum satisfaction from it. i'll be saving most of my 8-week allowance for an ipod touch 8gig. Or should i buy the 16gig instead? Pls pls give me the best answer you could give. Thanks in advance.

  1. I only have it because I got it free with my Macbook. I would've never bought it alone.

Now that I'm experienced with it, and because I need a phone, I am going to get the new iPhone. Which is all the Touch and more.

The internet in your pocket is great, the drawback with the Touch is that you need to be near wireless internet for it to work, and it's only as fast as that internet signal.

I am really looking forward to the phone, plus the phone has a camera, and the touch doesnt. Also the touch doesnt have external speakers.

  2. It's good buy if you have a lot of songs and videos. Also it's something you want to use all the time. It really all depends on what you want to do. But everyone knows the real deal is the iPhone because you got your music, videos and the phone. The Best! I own 2 iPhones.

  3. I just bought myself one and it's greater than I expected. I have a collection of 350 CD's and now I have them all in my pocket to take it anywhere.

Forget about taking a CD Case to a trip, having to pick wich cd's you're going to take along, now I connected to my dad's car stereo or bring along some portable speakers to any place you can imagine.

I bought myself a small speaker system that works either with 4 AAA batteries or AC current and took it along to a Lodge in the Amazon jungle, it's great to have 1,500 songs at your disposition in a place where there's no electricity (I had to recharge the batteries on a portable power source that the lodge had for that porpuse.

  4. Well, it is if u want it

if u travel it would be good cause u have internet

  5. I have a 16G iPod touch which I bought sometime in April and I am loving it so much!

Currently, it has 1500+ songs, 5 full length movies, some of my favorite music videos and 200+ photos.  The astonishing and really cool part?  It still has 4.9G vailable!  In this regard, it is worth every money because I need not bring CD's or VCD's and DVD's whenever I travel.  I can also easily show my photos to friends without bringing my digicam or my laptop.  Everything is in my iPod.  Also, it has saved me from boredom many times.

I also love writing my thoughts via the iTouch's Notes.  I have composed numerous poems and short stories using this feature.  Sometimes,  the draft for my blog is composed via Notes then I just send it via email so I need not retype everything.

I also plan of downloading some Audiobooks for it so that aside from listening to the music, I can read books to kill time or keep myself occupied.

The iTouch can also have games but since I am not the kind who is so into games, I did not stuff my iPod with any game at all.

The drawback is that I can not fully utilized its Web-based services like YouTube, Safari, Weather, Stocks, Mail and Maps.  One has to have Internet access to enjoy these features and here in the Philippines, too few establishments offer free WiFi access.  But whenever I have net access, it's really a joy to have.  I can send e-mails and chat to friends without lugging my laptop around.

iTunes is also not yet supported in the country so you can not buy songs or movies from there.  I got my songs from my CD's and from free download sites like Limewire.

As much as I love my iTouch, I suggest you wait for the iPhone as it has the iPhone's features and more.

  6. They sell cheap mp3 player made like an ipod touch but alot cheaper like 40 to 65 bucks on ebay, almost the same.

  7. I got the 16GB one. I have loads of music and videos in it. I downloaded and converted some tv series that I'm watching and transferred it onto my iTouch, so I can watch them whenever I want to. I also have some audiobooks, which are also good to listen to and you won't have to read the book! I also have some pictures in it. I think you should get the 16GB instead, it's only a little expensive than the 8GB, but you can put way more files in it. The only think I hate about my Touch is, I can't upgrade the version into the one I want. My sister's nano got the lyrics feature where you can read the lyrics (or sing along) to the song while the music is playing. But, Apple made that feature in the paid version of the Touch. I think it's like $25 before. Then, there's another upgrade on iTunes about another upgrade which costs around $13 i think.
