  1. Flies are actually quite resilient.  They tend to develop a "lethargic" and even "paralysis" type stage when the encounter temperatures around 40 degrees Fahrenheit and below, but can quickly recover when their air temp surrounding them rises.  As long as they were in a container that could keep them breathing, and temperatures were in their "habitable" range, they could survive.  So the container would also need some form of climate control on the moon.

I think the flies might get exceedingly frustrated (well, assuming they are capable of frustration, a typically "human" emotion), with the change in gravity, it it could prove difficult to "re-learn" how to get from point A to point B.

  2. Sure.  They sent men... why not a few flies?  Altho... they probably wouldn't last long after the hatch was open...

  3. If the flies are inside the spacecraft, then yes.

Why must they be inside? Well they'd die if they were outside.

  4. Sure, it's possible. However; I'm sure we have no desire of doing that right now.

  5. Yeah the commies beat us to that. We flew astronauts, they flew flies and turtles. I gues they figured it's no big deal to send an advanced form of life to the moon, but how about a fly or turtle, THEY have to have everything handed to them.

  6. With the extensive cleanroom procedures undertaken by NASA or any agency putting up spacecraft, no.  Unless they're brought as an experiment.

  7. Probably not all the way there cause once they got into "space", or once the "hatch" is opened and Space enters----there is no air there, no atmosphere, so the flies would be goners!  However, if they were in an atmospherically sealed environment, they might survive.  Otherwise, no, I don't believe that they wouldn't survive.

However, I feel that there is no use worrying about such small asinine things as whether, or not, flies could possibly get into that area, due to the fact that the chance of that happening is so phenomenally small, that I feel that there is really no question there.

  8. Not all flies, Some can but others can't.

The bee, butterflies, dragonfly and others can but mosquitos can't

The bees, butterflies and dragonflies can cos they have adequate strength and flying power

  9. yes but they wont make it all the way unless it is in a container they hav oxygen
