Is is bad to drink too much water?

Question

I weigh 116lbs so that means I'm supposed to drink 58 ounces a day, and I normally drink 64 ounces(sometimes more). I know this is a silly question...

Nah, you're fine.  It's healthy to drink a lot of water.  Your body will tell you if you drink too much.

you only get into trouble with water if you start drinking in excess of 1 gallon or more an hour.  Or if you drink pure water (pure H20 all the time acts as a solvent on the minerals in your bones)

Excessive amount of water can be dangerous, do you remember the radio contest where the girl dranks gallons and gallons of water to win a wii and ended up dying? It called water intoxication.

The average person should drink 8 glasses of water a day at 8 ounces a glass. That totals to 64 ounces, so you should be fine. And if you drink more than that because you are thirsty then your body must need the water.

as long as you drink water throughout the day you will be fine but do not drink a real lot amount at 1 time you actually could die from drinking for example 3 gallons of water in a 2 hour period becuase of what it does to your blood

It is ok to consume several more ounces than your individual needs there is such thing as water poisoning though, consuming more water than your body can handle. Look up water poisoning on wikipedia

No, that's not too much. You just want to avoid, say, drinking more than your body weight? That might be a tad bad.

It is bad to get to much of anything, so probably. But you didn't go over that far so you are fine.
