I am doing some work outs and I know that your stride length and so one determines your speed, but I wanted to know if people like track players run on there balls or they run flat-footed and which one is better.

P.S. It would be great if you can give me a website.

  1. I would say its best to run on the balls of your feet for all running especially sprinting. I recomend www.brianmac.co.uk

its covers that sort of information about running techniques ect.

    i hope its of help

  2. you land on the heel and roll forward to push off the  toe. Thats how you generate power.

  3. It depends on how fast you are running.

If you are a distance runner then you land flat footed and roll of the front of your foot.

if you are sprinting then you run on the balls of your feet.

Your stride is lengthened behind you, not in front.

If you land in front you are slowing down before the foot passes under your body.

Running is a pushing action not a pulling action.

Your speed determines the position and how the foot contacts the ground.
