  1. i dont think thats possible i mean even a MACHO man has to fear suttin even if its small i say theres no such thanq

  2. No. If it is, its a mental illness of some sort. Having no fear of an oncoming train 5 seconds away or whistling away when a falling piano is heading down to ur head when you see it is a mental illness.

Unfortunately, this disease is usually fatal way before a psychological help eaches and thus noone could possibly have studied this illness.

There's always Dutch courage after a lot of drinks though...no insult intended to the Netherland.

  3. yes

  4. You may have no phobias, but to be afraid of absolutely nothing is not possible.

  5. insanity.

fear has it's place. keeps us from doing really stupid things (atleast some of the time)

if a person has no fear of anything they are apt to do something very dangerous and deadly

just a if a person is too afraid of something or everything that person is just as apt to be just a dangerous deadly and stupid.

people today are just stupid with fear. and the powers that be are profiting greatly from it.

    get a clue folks.

  6. its nothing for excample your afraid of water like swimming pool...thats not nothing its completely normal...maybe because your afraid to drown or your alone or had a bad experience of the past.....

  7. yea

  8. This is a conditioning process.  Creative development of dynamic thinking eliminates fears and phobias.  Continual exposure to challenges eliminates hurdles.  Orientation and reorientation of senses masters challenges.

Some military and para military training specializes in developing a fearless capacity.  Army Rangers, Marine Force Recon, and Navy Seals train for virtually every inevitability.

  9. Normally we are afraid of nothing until we find ourselves in a situation where fear arises. It is those situations we fear.

  10. yeah, it's possible. It's called "coma".

  11. Being fearless is entirely possible.

  12. It is possible to not be afraid of anything.

It comes after you recognize that fear is only an object.  That the fear you feel about certain things only exists because it is applied by you.  Once you truly understand the nature of fear, you will not fear anything.

As far is if there is a "condition" of fearlessness, I would say Antisocial Personality Disorder is close to what you are looking for.  Since people with APD lack the empathy gene, they have no concern for how their actions will affect people.  People with this condition are often seen to be reckless and, because of this, fearless.

  13. Possibilities are infinite. My answer is yes. You may not be afraid of nothing; you may just don't want a thing. You may call it "non-attachment."

  14. No. We all have some type of phobia.  We may fear nothing, but may possess phobias, which is a form of fear.

  15. Sounds like a manic state. The person need psychological evaluation urgently.

  16. its called denial bcuz no1 can be afraid of nothing.

  17. I don't really think that it's possible.....it's kind of just a denial and people that say that they're not afraid are afraid of fear itself =D

  18. No. Because then you're afraid of fear.

  19. If you are aware of Gita, the great Indian philosophy as preached by Lord Krishna, it talks of three ways to attain 'ananda' (the closest English equivalent for it would be eternal joy)..... now such a state of mind can never be fraught with any fear, nor anger nor hatred nor any negative emotion whatsoever. The 3 methods are.......

    1. supreme knowledge that realizes the utter illusion that this physical world is, obviously there should be no real fear if everything is known to be illusory or unreal......

    2. supreme devotion towards God whereby there is absolute faith, so that there can be no cause for fear since everything is appropriately taken care of by the Almighty.......

    3. total focus on 'karma', that is on whatever needs to be done rather than getting bogged down with any judgment on what is happening as to its being favorable or otherwise, so that with the focus on and involvement in doing rather than judging, there would be no scope for fear which is always the result of our judgment of any situation.

Those three are clearly logical and meaningful ways to be absolutely fearless. However, none of them can be a cakewalk for us ordinary human beings, since total perfection is called for and we can possibly never attain such perfection on a sustainable basis. Nevertheless, if we pursue any of those three methods with all sincerity of purpose and determination, I have no doubt in my mind that we can get much closer to the state of absolute fearlessness with occasions of failure getting fewer and farther as we continue to improve our proficiency in our practice of the chosen method.

It is interesting to note here that all the three methods lead to the same state of mind which can be summarily understood as "total acceptance" of whatever happens without any negative feeling.

  20. Paradoxically, yes and no.

Yes, it's possible to mentally conquer fear.  Fear arises from the lowest functions in our brains; an evolutionary gift from our reptilian ancestors.  This part of the brain has no direct connections to the outside world; it gets all its data from higher brain functions (which you *can* consciously control).  So, yes it's theoretically possible.

No, it's not generally do-able because humans are not perfect, do not have perfect mastery of their thoughts, and cannot manage everything that's happening in their heads all the time.  I don't know anyone who successfully prevents even the smallest fears from getting tickled now and then.
