Question:

Is is possible to be cured of herpes?

About 5 years ago, my gynecologist told me that I had herpes. Since then, I have moved to a different city and started seeing a different doctor. I have gone for 3 yearly check ups. Everytime I go, I get checked for everything. They even do blood tests. They have never found anything, I have never tested positive. What does this mean? Is it possible that my first doctor was wrong? Since I first tested positive, I have never had another outbreak.

  1. Valtrex suppreses the herpes virus and possibly the ani-bodies for it. if u don't have enough herpes anti-bodies built up then u can test negative for hherpes but this doesn't mean that u are cured, since there is no cure for herpes and the body can't cure the virus by iitself

u don't know how much i wanted to believe that there was a cure since i found out that i have herpes. since i was diagnosed last year i have only had 2 major out breaks and have had very mild ones ever since.

there are people who have claimed to "cure" herpes by majorly suppressing or treating the virus so that it goes into dormancy. this way u will still have herpes in your body but less able to pass herpes on.

they are testing a vaccine (similar to guardasil) for herpes on rats but they don't know if it works on humans yet.

  2. NO.

  3. No way to be cured of herpes. Blood tests aren't 100% accurate for herpes. Doctors don't test unless they see a reason to and they can't test for herpes with swabs unless they have an outbreak to swab from. That's why you are testing negative. Sorry.

  4. A significant portion of those who contract herpes have only one lifetime outbreak. This is not uncommon.

Anyone who has herpes is capable of shedding the virus, and therefore spreading it at any time, although obviously there is more shedding when there's an active outbreak.

I explain to patients that people aren't usually being mean and trying to spread STDs to you, but a few things happen to have caused you to get herpes. Either someone knew they had it and didn't care and so had s*x with you without telling you, or, more commonly (I suspect) people have only one outbreak, and either chalk it up to something else in the first place (s*x irritated the area/wearing a bathing suit all day are common ones for girls, and the skin right there rubbing against my jeans/getting pinched by the zipper for the guys [anyone heard those?]) and never get checked out at all, or they get checked out and then question the results if another outbreak hasn't happened.

It's quite possible that there was a misdiagnosis for whatever reason with the first doctor. Hopefully you will never know for sure (ie, will never have an outbreak in the future! the blood tests are not accurate enough), but it would be fair to s*x partners to know the full story the way you explain it here if you plan to be with a new partner. ..especially bc this is a disease that is known for showing up once and then lying dormant for the carrier, but still transmissable.

    Good luck!

  5. Since there is no cure for herpes I would say that your first doctor and test were wrong and you never had it in the first place. Congratulations!

  6. hmm apparently not...(yet) There are some treatments to prevent breakouts though so check them out. I heard somewhere that 1 in 10 people have immunity to herpes (I know it might be a myth) and never get infected by someone with herpes or just simply a carrier. One time I shared a drink with someone who had NOTICABLE cold sores on his mouth and I never had cold sores. Maybe i'm also a carrier too so who knows. Good luck!

  7. u may have had it but then the valtrex helped make it pretty much go away, Magic Johnson who has HIV has had so much treatment that hes been tested for HIV and they came up negative even though he still had some but it only came up negative because of all the treatment hes had over the years and all u used was valtrex so idk really

  8. To begin, I am a huge fan of Nikola Tesla.  Nikola discovered that everything has a resonating frequency.  This work was continued by other scientist and finalized by Royal Rife where he build a microscope in the 20’s with which he could view living bacteria and viruses (a feat not repeated to this day).  Rife proceeded to determine the MOR (Mortal Oscillatory Rate) at which various creatures died.  Royal Rife proceeded to build a Rife Generator which used a plasma tube to generate light frequencies along the MOR scale to help kill certain bugs.

  9. Were you ever treated, took any prescribed meds? If you've never had another outbreak and have tested negative 3 times, I would say you probably never had it to begin with. Youtube Bob Beck.

  10. A lot of times people only have one outbreak. The herpes virus can not always be detected in the blood stream. The only sure way to come up with a positive test for herpes is to do a swab from an open sore. Your first doctor was probably right, but the virus is probably just dormant.
