Is is possible to increase the power on a 2.5 hp Mercury outboard motor?

I've heard that on larger motors you can change the carb for increased hp and other things so I was cuious to know if I could do anything on my small 2.5 hp motor

Put a blower on it with twin 1050 double pumper carbs. Also a set of headers from a 502 big block won't hurt.

maybe changing prop size or change trim

A 2.5 is what it is U MIGHT get a little more with a special carb but  for the expense   just up grade to a larger engine u willl be happier

A 2.5 is a 2.5 and thats it. It will move a 12' boat. It would be considered a trolling motor.
