We are wanting to change the room that the tv and satallite receiver are in. We thought about running a new cable line to the other room but this is almost impossible to do (basement is finished, etc).

Is there a way to get the signal to the other room without having the actually cable there (ie a router). If so, what type should we look for?

Thanks

  1. Technically, the answer is yes, but it would require costly equipment to do it using a router.  After the satellite receiver, you would need a converter to change the signal so that it could run over your local intranet that you would have to create.  A wireless ethernet receiver in the basement would then be needed to convert the programming that is now in internet format back into a signal type the your TV could use.

It is possible but might be costly.

  2. YES!  it is called an Extender

see the attached link for starters

I have this very Unit.  Works great

    EDIT

I don't think under a $100.00 is out of reach
