Is is safe for kickers?

hi i would like to know if its ok to power 2 kicker cvr 12s 800rms with an amp that puts out 1700 rms at 2 ohms?

Well it depends on what version of that sub you have.  That sub is DVC which means the only way you can wire two of them to a 2 ohm load is if you have the 2 ohm DVC version of that sub.  

If you do then sure, you can power them with 1700w RMS.  100w RMS more is not going to cause any harm.  Just make sure to set the gain correctly on your amp or you will have problems.

If it is the 4 ohm DVC version of that sub you cannot wire to a 2 ohm overall load.  You would need an amp that is around 1600w RMS at either 1 ohm or at 4 ohms.
