  1. Benadryl can be given to cats.  First, you'll need to consult your cat's vet to make sure there are no health issues which would prevent him from tolerating it and to get the proper dosage. Never give any meds human or for animals without first consulting a vet.  Be aware Benadryl will make your cat foam at the mouth due to the terrible taste. Be sure you have plain Benadryl and not the kind with acetaminophen.

  2. NEVER, EVER give a cat medicine intended for a  human. You can make your cat very ill or even kill him/her.

If you are worried about your cat's stress level on a trip, ask your veterinarian about a mild sedative that you can give the cat right before the trip. Mild sedatives are acceptable for giving a cat on a trip, especially a long trip by car or plane, and they are generally harmless to your cat (some cats do have a poor reaction to them, though, so you might want to try it for a shorter trip before giving it to your cat for a long trip).

Again, you should NEVER give medication intended for humans, or even medication intended for other types of animals, such as dogs or horses, to a cat. Cats have died from this many times.

  3. absolutely not! animals never should have any human medicines! have your vet prescribe an acetitive, it will probably be under $10
