Hi,

I have applied for a job, wherein the company has finished, interview, onsite interview, medicals, reference checking etc. Now i got a call from the managers i would be working for yesterday, they told me that they were all set to ' give me the offer letter' ' would liike to use my skillsets' and taht they are very interested in me and they have strongly reccommended me to the mangement.

However, they need to approve my employment from the management as its a 'new position', not the one i applied for i guess.

Anyway, i had planned to go to india for a holiday, and i told them, so the managers told me, 'enjoy your holiday' and that they will try and approve it ASAP and send me the offer letter via email, and that they hope to see me soon.

Is it certain now i got the job? can the management rescind my managers decision? or i can be safe, and assume i am employed

thanks

  1. i dont know...why would u ask people online if u think u got a job?

  2. no, its not certain. depending on the structure of the company, a lot of decisions from mid-management are often rejected by the higher-ups, especially new positions. but don't give it too much thought. you had a strong interview and they seem genuinely interested in hiring you. so enjoy your vacation, check your emails regularly, and keep applying to other companies - you never know, a better offer might come up.

  3. No, it is not certain, but you have done all that is possible.

They need permission to hire you, and the budget will dictate that decision. It sounds like they are optimistic, but they can't offer you the job until the management approves it. They have probably told the mgmt. that you are the one they want, and the mgmt. is deciding whether they can bring on a new staff member.

The management will not be rescinding anything because there has been NO decision. The people who have interviewed you do not have the power to hire, and they have made this obvious.

Do not assume you are employed. You are either going to get an offer letter or if they are professionals, a rejection letter or call. OR, they may say that they have to let more time go by until they can hire, but are keeping you in mind.

You won't know until they know. :) But, you are almost there-hopefully, they will approve you.
