Isn't burma an old british imperial name?

  1. Yes, but it's the one most people are familiar with so if the TV only mentioned Myanmar a large proportion of the population wouldn't know where that was.  Also Myanmar is a particularly ugly name!!!

  12. Yes it is, and there is nothing wrong with it. However the fascists who run the place decided to change it. Their regime is no better than Mugabe in Zimbabwe. It is enough to stop you complaining about the current bunch of deaf trough swillers we have running the country here.
