  1. If the Cubs don't start playing better on the road ( 1-4 in their last 5 ) then either the Brewers or Cardinals will run them down.

The Cubs have a four game home stand against the Marlins who are putting up a fight in the east. The Cubs then hit the road against the Brewers in a huge four game series.

Right now the moment is on the Brewers side some having 6 in a row and having won the first 2 of a 4 game series with the Cardinals.

If the Brewers do run down the Cubs it will be tough for the Cubs to take back first place with Sheets and Sabathia pitching so well.

  2. I think the Milwaukee Brewers have a serious chance this year.  They are making several moves to put themselves in the hunt till the end.

    1.  C.C. Sabathia

    2. Ray Durham

    3. Jay Gibbons

They just need to add another reliever.

    Go Brew Crew!!!!!

  3. Die Hard Sox Fan Here..........hopes that either Milwaukee or St. Louis will beat the Cubs butts.  Cubs Fans are getting a "little-too-cocky" and obnixous around here.  Impossible to share a city with.

Unfortunately.....I have a feeling that the Cubs will win the division.  St. Louis and Milwaukee have been trailing behind them all year.

If the Cubs don't win the division....we will have to put half of the city of Chicago on a suicide watch!

  4. I feel for the Cubs, I really hope they make it out of the first round this year, They need Soriano back badly.

  5. they both should make the playoffs. i rather have the cubbies win the division so they can play the winner of the awful national league west

    go cubs

  6. The cardinals will get them both,   but if they happen to beat themselves then the brewers will get the division and the cards will get the wildcard.   Cubs are gonna fall to third.  Their team isnt as good as everyone says it is.  On paper its looks awesome but they have no chemistry.  Plus the cubs always suck after all-star break as you can see.

Also I love how the cards get 2 games behind the cubs and 1 game behind the brewers and everyone counts them out.  Its funny.  Kind of like in 2006 when everyone thought they wouldnt even win the first round.  Well we will be laughing at you guys again.   See you in the playoffs

You are right cubsbear they did do that,  but isnt the playoffs after the all-star break.  Didnt they lose in the first round.  So yes they fall apart after the all-star break.  Wether it be in the season or playoffs.

I think they have a good team but when you buy a team, they dont work well together.  There is no leader on the team and they try and show off.  That got them this far, but when it gets pressure time and people start to fall under pressure they have no leader to pull them together  because they are about personal gain rather than team gain.  That is why I think they will crumble to third.

  7. In my eyes this baseball season is one of the weakest I have ever seen. Not taking anything away from Cubs, Cards, Angels and so forth, but for most part, and well, even including them to a point, most teams are struggling and I would have to say that SP is more so the reason. Lack of SP to be exact. However, this is surely the season for The Cubs to take control and get that Series win they are impatiently wanting/waiting for. Cards have shown vulnerability in quite a few ways, and Phillies, Marlins, Mets wont go too far if they make it to playoffs. Brewers have best shot as being "spoilers" this season, and getting Sabathia is best thing they have done in a while and will keep them on a consistent path this trip around.

  8. the crew and the cubs will be caught by the cards.

  9. The Cubs are as good as any team in baseball, but their bullpen has been a little shaky lately.

The Brewers have major bullpen concerns and I think it will be their demise.

Both teams should start paying more attention to the Cardinals, especially with Wainwright returning very soon.

  10. No, the Cubs will no make the playoffs. They will end the season in 3rd looking up at the Brew Crew and the Cards who will both represent the NL Central in the playoffs.

    Let the choke begin!

  11. Hold on sweetie!!!!

There are 3 teams in this race!

There are still 62 games left for you and the brewers to blow it and 60 left for us to make a move :P ha ha

Honestly though i think cubs win the division... :(

But we're takin the wild card.

        TONIGHTS SCORE! - 6-4 Cards!!!

  12. The Brew Crew blows the freakin' cubbies out of the water. The Cubs bought their team. But when one of the pieces of their team gets injured, they all fall apart. The cubs are a World Series caliber team built on a crappy farm system. If the Brewers have some one injured, their is always someone to take their place. The Cubs cannot survive without guys like Kerry Wood and Alfonso Soriano. That is why the Brewers will dominate the NL central in this last half of the season.

  13. I still think the Cubs are the better team.  They have a better offense and a better starting and relief pitching staff.  I still think the Cubs take the division and the Brewers take the Wild Card, not to mention you can't count out the Cardinals.  As for the playoffs, once they start it's a whole new season and anything can happen.  As a Cubs fan I'm trying to not get to excited to set myself up for more heartache, but they do have a very special team andhave as good of a shot as anyone else to win it all.

Samtheman are you insane.  The Cubs are stacked with depth. Obviously you dont pay too much attention to the Cubs to be saying that.  If Wood goes down Marmol or Howry can step in.  With Soriano down they have Reed Johnson, Mark DeRosa, and Micah Hoffpauir all capable of filling that role.  The Cubs have so much depth it's ridiculous.

Terry we saw last year what you mean by the Cubs falling apart after the All-Star break.  You know when they were like 6 games behind the Brewers and came back to win the division.  Loking back on last year I really see what you mean.

  14. cubs are going to win the division and the world series

  15. Of course. The Cubs will beat the Yankees in Game 6 of the world series to officially close the "House that Ruth Built" Muhahahahah
