  1. Why should you think that? Most of the famous chefs and cooks are men, and they're all passionate about food and cooking!!! Gordon Ramsey, Rick Stein, Anthony Worrall Thomson, Ainsley Harriot, Jean Claude Christophe, Marco Pierre White....there must be hundreds....and it can't be that bad if this lot have made a fortune out of it!!! go for it!! At least you have a constructive hobby that may lead you to greater things in the future!! Good luck with your cooking!!! Lets hope you make it big time!!! You'll be the one laughing then!!

  2. No its not ...... many of the top chefs in the world are male ...... if you have the passion for cooking, put your heart into it and be the best you can be ....... = )

  3. your friends are stupid!! there are many man-cooks in the world. if you really like cooking, you should attend a specific school to improve your art!

    this is my honest opinion.

    bye!

  4. My guess is that if you're asking this on Yahoo you're probably 16 years old or younger. In that case, you're friends are probably telling you that cooking is "pretty g*y."

If you're between 17 and 22 and your friends are telling you this, they need to grow up.

If you're somehow older than 23, get new friends. Yours are idiots.

Girls love guys that cook. It will work to your benefit someday. Most of the top chefs in the country are men. Cooking is fun, plus everyone needs to eat. You'll be eating better than your friends. Don't worry about if it's "girlie" or not and do what you like. Eventually you'll see that's all that matters.

In case you're interested in knowing, cooking on the grill is the exception in all walks of life. That's how men cook, universally. Your friends should definitely respect that.

  5. Absolutely not.  I worked in restaurants for many years and grew to love great food.  I learned to cook because I decided long ago that if I'm going to eat the food I want, I'm going to need to cook it myself.  Over the years, I've developed a deep passion for cooking and all of the elements.  A dinner party at my house is great party and not a single one of my friends would jeapordize their invitation by laughing at me.

A nice side element is that I get out of a lot of the cleaning at home because I do most of the cooking.

  6. Having been a Chef for nearly 25 years i can assure you that it's anything but girlie and some of your silly friends should maybe come into a busy kitchen at 6.30 am and put in a full days work before making such uneducated comments. As for you if you enjoy cooking either for yourself and family and friends or you want a career in catering don't take any notice of those who tease you now , when your working and they're unemployed you'll be laughing last
