...responsibility then why hasn't He done it? And if you say it's not God's responsibility but man's then aren't you pretty much in line with Humanism?

  1. Without suffering there would be no compassion.

  2. it is mankind's responsibility... but God will take that responsibility when the time is best....

  3. God will end suffering on earth...He will end earth.

  4. We will never be able to end suffering.  Suffering came when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden.  It is the result of our sins.  God cannot end our suffering neither.  The only time when we will stop suffering is when, if you are a believer, you go to heaven.

  5. You may have missed it.

  6. It is mankind's responsibility to end the suffering due to the belief in deities.

  7. It is man's responsibility to submit himself to God...if man does that...then there will be little to no suffering on earth.

  8. I blame satan  for leading us astray.

  9. god does not have any responsibility to us.... just the opposite, we have a responsibility to him and more exact to our world that he created for us by using the big bang. god does not interfere with our day to day lives. we were given this earth and its up to us respect and care for it and its people...otherwise, whats the point of mankind?

  10. The Bible clearly shows that God created man to enjoy life, not to suffer. (Genesis 2:7-9) It also reveals that the first humans brought suffering upon themselves by rejecting God’s righteous rule.—Deuteronomy 32:4, 5; Romans 5:12.

In spite of this, God still feels compassion for suffering humanity. This is clearly shown in his promise to bring an end to human suffering. “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”—Revelation 21:3, 4; see also Isaiah 25:8; 65:17-25; Romans 8:19-21.

These wonderful promises prove that God is sensitive to human suffering and that he is determined to bring an end to it.

  11.   Suffering  will  end  only  when  Christ  return,s,

and we are in Heaven,,as long as flesh  live,s there

    will be suffering.

  12. It is Jesus who will end human suffering when he returns.  Man can't do this because man don't know how.  The ways of man leads to death, war, and pretty much what we are going through now.  Jesus will be the one to bring world peace!

I read the responses and those that think man can end suffering, don't hold your breath.

  13. That is a great question. I think regardless of which way you want to place the responsibility, the real question is what can one do individually to make a difference. In light of all the destruction and suffering we see in the world, why is it that more people are not wanting to do something within themselves to make it better as opposed to blaming or waiting on others to fix the problems. We all say we want things to come to some sort of peace and harmony but then we all want it based on our own perception of that means and how we can get there.

Until each one finds a way to change this world by their own effort, how can we expect change to occur at all. It is not like we can agree on much and now we can not even agree to disagree. How can we expect it to get any better if we are only concerned with who is at fault and who's responsibility it is to correct matters. I think the answer is only within ourselves.

Here is an awesome video that explains how we can do just that. We need to start with the only one who is and must be responsible, and that is us. I hope this might help in answering your question as it did me when I came to this understanding, the need on my own part, in making this world a better place. Best wishes.

  14. Ultimately it is man's responsibility because of the non existence of God.  It is one of the reasons I come here to R&S trying to save theists from their harmful philosophy.

By harmful, I mean the expectation and hopelessness in our species created by belief.  You can see it in Daniels answer.  According to his philosophy, suffering cannot be combatted until after death?  His belief is a hope for death, not life.

  15. Suffering on the earth is because of sin. Adam and Eve sinned and were punished with death, so all of their children (us) were born in sin. Until we die (leave the world that is CURSED), we will be living in sin. For example, sin is why things "rot". AKA the world is cursed, as long as we are in this world, we will be feelings the results of the curse.

I don't "believe" in the Bible, but if you actually read it somethings do come together. It is well written like Shakespeare and can be analyzed.

  16. It  is  up  to  men   to  do  this  for  each  other. However  once  that  choice  is  made  GOD  then   helps  out  every  step  of  the  way.    THANK  YOU  D'S  P.S  WE  ARE  OUR  BROTHERS  KEEPERS

  17. It's man's responsibility to do unto his neighbor as he would have his neighbor do unto him.  If everyone did that then there would be much less suffering in the world.  Ultimately, however, God is in control of it all.  And He is working out His plan of ending suffering in the world right now.  Those who believe in His Son will inherit the Kingdom of God.  Those who do not believe will be removed from the world forever.  In the end, there will be no suffering in the world.

  18. Suffering is part of life.

It will never end until lif ends

  19. It's nobody's "responsibility".  If doing so seems good to you, then you should pursue it.  Nobody is forced to do anything, but compassion for others asks that we try.

God created the world exactly as it is.  Perhaps part of the design is that we will be driven to end suffering on our own.  Perhaps not.  God's purposes are not ours.  Maybe He created suffering for a greater good--maybe even so we can know what it is like to feel compassion and the desire to end the suffering of others.

But whatever the case, we can only act as our conscience dictates.  Who cares whose job it is?  We should act with compassion for its own sake, because it is what we are driven to do.
