No, but it's always good to know how to do it before you try.

Not really, but it may help to get a little practice on something like a table top or something nearly "disposable".  Your first project could be not so professional looking.

You'll want to rent a diamond wet saw most likely, which makes cutting the tiles so much easier and more accurate.  If you try to go with a tile scorer/snapper, you can get pretty good results, but with the wet saw your cuts will be just perfect.

  Properly prepping the counter is the worst.. Cutting and laying the cement board along w/ sink r & r..Thats probly the overall hardest part..   You know how your treating the edge? Wood trim? Surface bullnose? Sink Rail?  A few of your "worries" to think about..GL
