  1. its not bad at all, its natural, though it shouldnt throw up most of the time..

  2. There is a basis of fact to the "throwing up" statements.  But cats do NOT eat grass JUST if they have an upset stomach.  Part of it can just be an instinctive craving.  My indoor cat likes to nip outside occasionally (supervised only) to nibble on some grass.  He rarely ever throws up afterwards.  He just has an urge to eat it, and that's all.  He browses for his favorites, nibbles the delicate ends off very carefully, and goes on about his life without a single stomach twinge.

It is thought that part of the instincts are that eating large wads of poorly-chewed grass (which tickles the throat and makes vomiting more likely) can help wild cats to expel hairballs and things like small animal bones.  Since your cat can't seem to hold his grass, check his vomit.  Gross, I know.  But-- if you see anything like large hairballs or small animal bones, etc. in the vomit you know that he has a GOOD REASON to continue eating the grass, to help him expel those things.  If you don't see anything like that, then prevent him from eating grass, since he doesn't need it.

  3. well at first i thought it was bad because they threw up, but soemone told me that when a cats tummy hurts they eat grass so that they throw up, so someone sayd it was acualy good becaus ethey get the bad stuff they ate out of their system, but i dont know if they are righ or not, but just let him do it anyways, it wont hurt him even if it is bad, my cats are really old and they eat grass so oviously it doesnt kill them or anything

  4. All cats eat grass, and yes sometimes they vomit afterward, it's normal for a cat to do this.

  5. If he throws up afterwards, it's obviously bad for him...or it could just be your cat trying to get rid of wastes in their stomach.

  6. it's normal. all animals do it. even house pets need some greens.

  7. It's very normal. Not to worry. They eat it exactly because it does make them throw up. Helps them get rid of hairballs for example.

  8. It's actually normal.  You normally see "outside" cats doing it.  They actually chew the grass to make themselves vomit or sometimes to settle their stomachs when they don't feel well.  It's instinct to them.

If you notice, the cat will go to a patch and appear to be sniffing all the grass and it will only pick certain kinds.  My cat eats these tall skinny weeds and she'll only eat certain ones after sniffing for a while.

  9. oh yes ofcorse, by eating grass it cleans his digestive system. grass and about the same thing as catnip, which cats need. same thing as when u buy a kind of cat treats that said (contains cat nip) which is about the same as dry grass :)

  10. cats eat grass because of upset stomachs.

    something in the grass helps...

you can actually buy grass for cats at pet stores :]

  11. my cat eats grass and does the same thing, when i asked the vet, he told me that they need the nutrients in the grass, that they don't get from wet/dry food.  the throwing up part is to help settle their stomach.
