  1. Not only do all road vehicles need a licence, but so do all their drivers, and insurance to boot - what a bore!

  2. It would need an MOT certificate, insurance and road tax, as well as seatbelts.

Also the legal age for driving in the UK is 17

  3. if you want to drive anything with a motor on the public roads it has to be taxed & insured.

  4. It would need a MOT certificate i think

  5. Definately not legal.

Golf buggys are not road-legal vehicles. They do not have the appropriate lighting (travelling in daylight only is not an exemption); they do not have safety equipment; they are not designed to requred crash and NCAP standards; etc. etc.

You would have to get the vehicle taxed and insured. Before it could be granted a tax certificate it would have to be inspected for roadworthyness and compliance to the Road Vehicle Construction and Use Regulations (See the link below); also, you would not be insured - that is a criminal offence.

It is possible to make the thing road-legal if you are prepared to spend the time and money on doing it, but you couldn't drive it.

You may not drive a motorised vehicle with four or more wheels unless you are least 17 years old and hold a valid driving licence. Only a  Motorcycle licence may be obtained at 16.

Please don't "chance it". You would certainly find yourself very heavily fined, risk confiscation of the buggy (without compensation) and have your (future) driving licence endorsed.

There is a real risk that you would get a criminal record as well. That would affect all aspects of your life because you'd have to declare it at job applications etc.

  6. haahahah, u will look soo funny!!!

  7. It would need to be taxed and insured

  8. Yes it is illegal to drive it.......

  9. You must (i repeat) must be 16 do not go without one unless you want to get in biggg (i repeat) bigg trouble (and i mean reallllllll bigggggg)

  10. absalutely fine, if you have Tax ,MOT, Insurance etc

You will need to be 17 as it comes under Cat B1 and is only available after passing  a car test

  11. As they are electric.. you have to be 16 to drive one as it is a vehicle with an engine. You would need a motorcycle licence though.....

However... because they are not taxed, do not have braking lights, indication or night (bad weather) lights (or an MOT) . you cannot ride them on an actual road.. and you can't ride them on a pavement either..

However.. saying that, you can buy road legal golf buggies (see the link below) but just to go to a prom.. I doubt you will be able to get hold of one I am afraid and again you would have to meet the criteria above about having a motorcycle licence.... so the out and out answer is.. no.... but yes if you are VERY lucky in obtaining a street legal buggy.

I did find something that might interest you.. which is a vehicle called a NEV.. (Neighbor Hood Electric Vehicles) which are street legal.. again.. visit the site below:
