Is it O.K. to use Easy Off oven cleaner on an electric, self-cleaning oven?

Cleaners for regular non-self clean ovens should not be used in a ''self-clean'' electric oven.

Usually some residual cleaner remains and becomes nearly unremovable after a high temp self clean cycle.

It messes things up pretty well.

Remove excess spilt material before running a clean cycle and let the oven do its thing.

Avoid scratching the inside surface.

They make stuff for self cleaning ovens.  If it doesn't say, I wouldn't use it.  I made that mistake and had all kinds of smells and residue in my oven.  Read the back label.
