Is it OK for members of a Yahoo Group to buy, sell and trade group topic related items through the group?

So, it's not a Yahoo Group rule, it would be up to the group owner/moderators? I'm asking because I belong to a group that has an owner/moderator who believes it's a Yahoo Groups rule. Thanks!

  1. My main group is centred around a tourist destination.  We have often had hotel and condo owners and members negotiating prices  and making other  arrangements.    It would surprise me very much if that constituted breaking the rules.

  2. It depends on the Group's rules, as created by the Group owner(s) and moderator(s).  If you're unsure if your Group's owner/moderator would allow this, then e-mail them (the address is at the bottom of the Group's home page; it should end in -owner@yahoogroups.com ) and ask.

EDIT : I scanned the Terms Of Service provided in crazy_mom's link, and I'd have to agree with your second Additional Detail.  I guess it comes down to would such a post be considered spam or advertising.  I don't think it would be, as long as the item(s) being bought or sold are related to the Group topic.
