Is it OK for people to practice whatever their religion tells them to do?

Is this freedom of religion? I just read a story about a guy that killed his own daughter because she divorced her husband. They guy actually thinks that it's OK, because his religions says it's OK. Read link.

As long as it doesn't go against the law of the land.In this case he was wrong.No matter what your religion is you are first under the law,because you were born but not born with religion,that is a choice.

people can follow thier religion just as long as they dont brake laws, it doesnt matter that that guys religion said to kill somone he will still be tried for murder.
