  1. Yes

  2. I think if it's not to far after the expiration date you will be fine. Otherwise if it has been a real while then I wouldn't take the chance.

  3. I guess if you eat it on the expiration date but if it was like expired like a month ago, don't eat it.

  4. NOPE. While some food is still good a long time after its expiration date, spinach has a lot of histamines. It is extremely unhealthy to eat spinach, that is expired.

  5. yep

  6. perfectly fine,  if it looks good..eat it.   if it had bacteria that would make you sick now, then it had bacteria to make you sick before you ever bought it....in other words, its fine.

  7. If its packaged spinach that you get at the supermarket, and not the frozen kind, it should be good to eat a couple of days after the date. Since my dad always buys salad items and such on sale since the expired date is about to come up but its most likely fine as long as it smells and looks ok. If a leaf or two is damaged you can cut it off and use the rest of it as long as you wash it carefully. Good Luck with everything.

  8. Yes, it will be ok.

As a test you can eat a leaf and if it tastes ok, it will be ok.

The dates on packages are put on with extreme caution.  With proper storage a day or two over can be ok.  If it looks ok, smell it.  If it smells ok, taste it.  If it tastes ok, you're good to go.

  9. It's fine.  But check the leaves, because some of them will probably be bruised and smell bad.  Just wash off the other leaves and use in your salad, or cooked....

  10. My rule for all fruit and veges is that if it looks okay and smells okay, it is okay.

Even if there is a black spot on a tomato or bruising on fruit etc, you can still cut it out and use the rest in most instances.  It is fine and much less wasteful!

  11. Look it over GOOD and make sure it isn't wilty or nasty looking.  If it looks okay it should be fine.  Just make sure you rinse it.

  12. Is it fresh or frozen/thawed. Both answers are yess but it will depend on if it is slimy for fresh and smelly for frozen/thawed.

  13. I wouldn't take the chance of eating an expired spinach. If the bacteria goes into you body it will cost you more to get it out of your system than that 5 dollar you are trying to save.So i would say it's not healthy to eat an expired spinach, throw it away and get a fresh one.

  14. My motto is if it looks fine and smells fine, then it's okay to eat.  Due dates aren't 100% precise.  It's not as if food is gonna be alright the day before the due date but immediately be bad on the due date and thereafter.  My wife is a due date freak; she uses due dates as if they are the Bible.  So if you're like me, just use your sense of smell, sight, and taste to see if food is bad.
