My baby has trouble falling asleep on his own. Is it ok to give him a teether blanket to keep him occupied as he goes to sleep or will he depend on it if I continue to do this. I will take it out of crib as soon as he falls asleep.

  1. I give my 6 month old different things when she goes to sleep. Sometimes she wants them and sometimes she doesn't. Sometimes I give her a very soft doll or a larger blanket. She really doesn't seem to depend on them at all.

    I hope that helps.

  2. sure, my son had a blanket as soon as he learned to roll over.

  3. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you are taking it out of his crib once he falls asleep.  The only reason I would be taking it out of the crib is because of SIDS, but as far as him becoming dependent on it I wouldn't worry too much about that.  The blanket isn't any different than having a pacifier to go to sleep.  I think you are doing great!  If that gets him to sleep then keep on doing it.  :-)

  4. Just please remember to take it out of the crib, but I don't see why not.

  5. i don't see any problem with that. as long as you do what you do and keep taking the blanket out of the crib after he falls asleep.
