Is it OK to mix deck stains of various brands and colors?

I want to stain my picnic table, but only have a little bit of stain in the bottom of several cans. Can I mix them all together?

All the colors are pretty similar.

yes it is okay. but only mix water based together  or oil based together.

Just read the clean up instructions on the cans. if it says  that you can clean up with soap and water it is water based.

If it says anything other than that it is oil based.

If the stains are all the same no problem. If you are mixing different types then you may be asking for trouble.
