  1. i dnt really think so, if u'r really good, u should'nt pay for something they're getting pleasure out of...the prize is prolly ur money back! lol....it does seem kinda fishy but if u think it's worth it then go for it...good luck

  2. Well make sure it's legit first. Its ok to pay for one but why would you want too because the majority of the contests these days are free.

  3. Why not? if you have a really nice photo that you think might win the prize, you should enter it, and pay the twenty dollars. If you win, what do you get? over twenty dollars? if i had a nice photo, i would enter it, just make sure that it's a really nice photo.

  4. they charge to enter so they can cover the costs of the contest such as judges and promotions etc.

Alot of contests do it... I'd be iffy if they didnt charge

  5. If the contest organizer is well know and famous for organizing great contests in the past then you may want to pay the fees to participate.

Otherwise i would not recommend you to pay entry fee.

Here are some Photo contests try if they have some good contests with no entry fee.

  6. uh no the prise should be money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Words to the wise. A fool and his money are soon parted.

There is a sucker born every minute.

It cost $20.00 to learn this lesson, that is cheap price to pay

  8. Is it your picture as a model being taken or is it your photography?  Either way it should not cost a thing because either way as a photographer or a model, both are expensive and it costs nothing to showcase your work.  Never send your work to anyone in the mail because someone will steal your hard work.  Be careful.  Talk to professionals in person.

  9. I payed $20.00 to enter a contest and it got my photo displayed in an art  gallery in Philadelphia for about a month, along with all the other entries that were accepted.

  10. HI Kyle,

Well, it is true.  Most big photo contests charge an entry fee.  The larger the contest,  the bigger the fee.   Sometimes there is a money prize and sometimes a trip or a camera...

But sometimes there are no gift prizes, but you get your picture published in a big magazine or catalog and people begin to recognize your name as being one of the foremost photographers.

So, if you find a contest that charges nothing,  there is nothing to gain by entering it.

Hope that was helpful in answering your question.  :))

    Thanks for reading.

  11. Sounds fishy to me too! Tell me you're not talking about picture.com
