  1. Yes!  We installed one in our old house and I loved it.  It was so easy to install & easy to keep clean.  My Husband and I are planning on putting one in our new kitchen, because we loved it so much.

  2. The only thing I would be concerned about would be if you spill water onto a laminate floor they become very slippy. You can sort this by applying certain finishes to the flooring but in my opinion you can't beat good old ceramic / stone tiles.

  3. Yes you can do that.  You may want to use the special caulking as if you were doing a bathroom floor.  Talk to the people at your home improvement store.

  4. Laminate flooring isn't supposed to get wet so you need to be careful in both kitchens and bathrooms. When cleaning, it's only recommended to damp mop it.

  5. Laminate flooring is generally a good option for kitchen flooring.  You can put nonslip-backed mats at your sink(s) and range/cooktop to catch spills, if you like.  One contractor I work with says it can be hard to properly level a built-in refrigerator on a laminate floor, so factor that into your choices if you're opting for such an appliance.  Feel free to check out my blog for more kitchen design and remodeling ideas:
