Normally male rats just groom each other but mine are constantly having s*x with each other. So as they are g*y it should be OK for them to be with the females

  1. well if you put them together expect lots of babies, unless all of the females have been fixed or the male has. and your male rats arent g*y. my rat emile will sometimes hump remy to show dominance.

  2. g*y rats?

  3. No. NEVER mix sexes. The only time to be breeding is if you have an experienced mentor. If you aren't serious about breeding, don't breed just because of the oppertunity.

They are not g*y... Rats will squabble, power-groom, and hump eachother to show thier dominance. Males especially are strict about who is boss and who is not. They are simply doing that to determine thier social status in the group. Their behaviour has nothing to do with s*x.

  4. Sounds like they are frustrated.  Stick them in with the girls, you may get lots of baby rats but at least the boys will be happy and will stop trying to sh*g each other.

  5. you shouldn't because they will have billions of babies and u would not be able to coupe with 25 babies at like once

  6. Yes but not strait away get one out and keep the other one in the cage then with the one you got out put it up to the other cage so it gets to know the other rat and get its smell:)

  7. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... Thats the funiest thing i have ever heard! well it will be fine if u dont want any babies.

  8. Some of the people are not telling you in a nice way so I will. If you would like to have rat babies then yes it is fine to put them together and I have herd that they are just proving dominance so It is normal

    Hope this helps :) Kory

  9. do you have a brain?

male rats + female rats = MILLIONS of babies... each rat can have upto 20 babies... trust me i know ive just had a litter of 17 and that was hard enough let alone with many rats having babies... your rats ARE NOT g*y! as soon as they smell the female that would be it

  10. So as they are g*y it should be ok for them to be with the females? That is the most silly thing I have ever heard. People amaze me how stupid they can be when it comes to animals,.

  11. Don't be stupid of course it's not okay to put your male rats in with females - you will get millions of babies that you will have to find homes for and as you couldn't conform their future health would be adding to the sickly gene pool which is constantly leaking into other rat lines and making our pets live shorter, iller lives. You would also be directly contributing to pet overpopulation - I already have 17 homeless rats to deal with and more on a waiting list waiting to come in, and all the other rat rescues around the area are also full - it is because of people like you that this is happening! Please use your common sense, your male rats WILL mate with the females and produce lots of babies - which is also unfair on your females as female rats can get pregnant the day they give birth, and as their gestation period is so short, could end up  dealing with up to 3 litters at any one time, which is very unfair. Also, pregnant females need to kept separate from other rats, particularly males, or the babies may get trampled or deliberately killed.

If your male rats are humping each other then they are clearly under stimulated and probably in too small a cage making them very frustrated. Make sure your cage provides at least 2 cubic feet or it is too small. Provide lots of toys and exciting accessories in your rats cage and let them free-range in a rat-proof area for at least an hour a day. It's also a sign of dominance and an important part of rats lives is establishing and maintaining a hierarchy.

If you insist on mixing your males and females then you will HAVE to neuter ALL your males, or spay ALL your females. This is a very expensive and often dangerous operation and very few vets would recommend it anyway. Many rats don't survive the anesthetic and I had a rat put to sleep yesterday whose spine was burnt by the heat pad during her operation.

use your common sense - DON'T MIX SEXES!!

  12. yeah if you want a billion of baby rats running around.

Only breed if you have the time, money, knowledge, and right homes for the babies.

  13. i wouldn't risk it, there maybe doing it together because they don't have any females, they only do it to produce babies

  14. Only put them together if you want billions of babies!

Seriously though don't breed unless you are certain you can find good homes for them all...
