  1. yes i would say it is..  although they say not too if you are breastfeeding because it can confuse the baby..  but i brestfed my son for the first two weeks of his life and he was less than a week old when i gave him a pacifier, it didnt confuse him one bit..  it also helps reduce SIDS..  so go ahead and give your baby one if you want too..

  2. u can give them one in the hospital, didnt they give u one? oh and my daughter was breast fed and did fine having one, that means nothing

  3. I agree with Ashley. If bottle fed, yes. Breast fed, wait til 6 weeks.

  4. if they are bottle fed, you can give it to them right away...breastfed you want to wait until the baby is used to the breast and latches well then you can introduce one :)

  5. My daughter is formula fed and She has used one since about a month just because she didn't want it before that. My friend's daughter is breast fed and she has used one since the day she was born and does just fine.

  6. I gave a pacifier to both my kids right away.  Both were bottle fed after a few weeks.

  7. yeah, its fine. My girls had them right from the start.

  8. Babies can begin using pacifiers from birth.  Some babies have a very strong need to suck and a pacifier can help ease that need nicely.  There are some recommendations to hold off on the pacifier for exclusively breast fed babies who are having breast feeding issues.  There is something called "nipple confusion" that can happen to some babies, but it really doesn't happen that often.  If nursing is difficult, especially with the latch on process, than wait a bit on the pacifier until breast feeding is well established.  Some babies like the pacifier and some will spit it out every time.  Each baby is different.

  9. I did with my son as he constantly wanted to suck on something so if was not a pacifier was by poor nipple (he would just suck not drink), made lifr a lot easier!! xx

  10. Absolutely. The hospital gave my daughter one the day she was born. In fact, studies show the pacifier use in the first few weeks of life significantly reduce the chance of SIDS.
