  1. I believe Freud made the case that humans have a "death wish," that we have a drive to destroy things when they are working just fine. I don't know enough about psychology to know if his theory or a version of it is still taken seriously, but anecdotally I think there is evidence for it.

  2. Its called jealousy.  When one thing rises above another it is all to common for the lower thing to be jealous.  How they deal with jealousy is the question.  To destroy it or ingnore it?

  3. No, not odd, maybe unfair, though.                                             I remember, when my kids were little.  I would build up something with blocks.  I would show them.  "See, looky what I did!"  They would crawl over and knock it all down and laugh!  They thought this was so funny!  We would do this over and over again.

Well, we are all still kids at heart!  We just got bigger!  The toys got bigger too!  So did the challenges!

Sometimes, when we are forced to start all over again, we appreciate it more and take better care to insure they don't fall as easily the next time!  :-)

  4. No, what do you think war, disease, murder, rape, domestic violence is all about? In fact I would say people have more of a natural tendency to destroy then construct. "No your wrong"...am I? Why is it that stranger is more likely to become your enemy without ever hearing them speak? Why in moments of weakness and when you crave power you would rather hurt someone's feelings or break something? That is the point though, to recognize the destructive energy and turn it into something positive. You may want to destroy something, but out of any destruction there is a new beginning, a new chance. It becomes odd when you are consumed by the destruction, we demolish buildings so we may build greater structures, if you break, be sure to rebuild.

  5. If what is "great" threatens the survival of the majority of life forms, it doesn't.

  6. not really.

    its called real world.

people will do anything to get what they want and if something comes in the way then they destroy it.
