I would have 2 subs but then my amp would only supply 85 watts per channel and the subs have 150 rms!!!

  1. Just don't turn it up all the way. Regards, Larry.

  2. Not very safe at all.

Unless the subs are 8 ohm. Then, wire both in parallel and you'll be fine.

If not. You'll have to run 2 channels

  3. As long as you keep the gains down, it won't hurt anything.  It's better that you don't overwork the amps running it full power so this way your amps will last longer.

  4. it is perfectly safe as long as the subs ohm load is correct for the amp you just have to remember to get the gain correctly. many people think the gain is a volume control for the amp and it's not match the gain to the preout voltage. eg if the preout voltage is 5 amps from the head the gain needs to be set at 5 volts also. if the subs are 4ohm and the amp is stable at 2ohms in bridged mode you are just fine if the amp is not 2ohm stable in bridged mode your running into trouble and will probiably fry your amp if it would work at all. with the amp bridged and providing 250 watts rms your subs will each get 125rms when in bridged mode so your really not going to gain all that much so if your not sure about anything just run em to the two channels and be done with it. . . or get a different amp.
